Senior Piping Material Engineer

Reporting directly to the Head of the Department, this full‑time on‑site position is based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

• Specialist engineer degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of experience, including at least 5 years in a senior role specializing in Piping Material activities such as preparation of piping specifications, piping classes, job specification, piping requisitions (MR/SR), bid evaluation, technical bid tabulation, MTO coordination, etc.
• Solid knowledge of ASME B31.3 and other ASME, ASTM, BS, NACE, ISO codes and standards for piping design and materials.
• Experience with piping MTO concepts and piping material management systems (knowledge of MARIAN is an added advantage).
• Strong analytical, cost‑conscious, proactive, communicative and independent working style.

• Prepare and check Piping classes, specifications for bulk pipe and valves, data sheets for valves and piping specialty items, and material requisitions.
• Perform piping design calculations (wall thickness, branch reinforcement, blind calculation, etc.).
• Review and implement client specifications and requirements for assigned projects.
• Conduct technical bid evaluations, technical discussions with clients/vendors, and prepare technical bid tabulation.
• Review and implement process and layout requirements for special valves and piping specialty items.
• Provide techno‑economical alternatives in design/materials, ensuring code compliance and project specifications.
• Coordinate with piping lead engineers, design engineers, and other disciplines to establish technical and material details.
• Maintain and update database files and RDB files for PDS/PDMS in coordination with ADPS administrator, Lead Engineer, and GMINI/MARIAN coordinator.
• Lead MTO activities on project or EPC proposals independently.
• Review vendor drawings in VDB.
