Position Summary

The Piping Supervisor is responsible for supervising all piping construction and installation activities on EPC projects within the oil, gas, and petrochemical sectors across UAE. The role ensures that all piping works are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in strict conformance with engineering drawings, project specifications, applicable international codes, and client requirements.

This position requires hands‑on site leadership of piping crews, coordination with other disciplines, and active engagement with QC, HSE, and engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise day‑to‑day piping installation activities including spool fabrication, erection, fit‑up, and tie‑ins.
  • Ensure all piping works are performed in accordance with approved isometric drawings, P&IDs, and project specifications.
  • Monitor and control installation of CS, SS, and alloy piping systems including flanges, valves, supports, and associated hardware.
  • Oversee field routing, pipe support installation, and alignment to design tolerance.
  • Manage piping pre‑fabrication shop and field fabrication activities, including fit‑up and dimensional checks.
Quality, Codes & Compliance
  • ASME B31.3 (Process Piping), ASME B16 series, and relevant ADNOC Engineering Standards (AES). (only minimal knowledge and idea)
  • Coordinate with QC Inspectors for dimensional inspection, weld mapping, NDE, and punch list clearance.
  • Review and implement Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) for all piping activities.
  • Participate in pre‑hydro, hydrostatic, pneumatic testing, and system flushing activities.
  • Ensure correct identification and traceability of piping materials and components at all times.
HSE & Permit to Work
  • Promote and enforce a zero‑incident HSE culture on site in line with Bilfinger and client HSE requirements.
  • Ensure valid Permit to Work (PTW) system is followed for all piping activities, including hot work, confined space entry, and pressurized systems.
  • Conduct daily toolbox talks (TBT), JSA reviews, and pre‑task planning with the piping crew.
  • Identify and immediately report unsafe conditions, near‑misses, and incidents to the HSE team.
Planning, Scheduling & Progress
  • Plan daily and weekly work activities in coordination with the Piping Superintendent and Project Planner.
  • Monitor manpower productivity, track progress against baseline schedule, and report deviations.
  • Identify potential schedule risks and propose corrective measures proactively.
  • Review and comment on Short Interval Control (SIC) schedules and contribute to lookahead planning.
Workforce & Subcontractor Management
  • Supervise and lead a multidisciplinary piping crew comprising fitters, welders, helpers, and riggers.
  • Assess craftsmen competency, allocate tasks appropriately, and ensure crew productivity and discipline.
