Location:
Siemens Energy, Abu Dhabi, AZ, AE. This full‑time on‑site position offers great opportunities for career growth.
- Design, analyze, and provide manufacturing support for turbo machinery hardware in the oil and gas industry.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to execute Fields of Action (FoA) co‑creation projects, developing competitive portfolios and advancing the energy transition.
- Evaluate and select advanced materials (high‑performance alloys, superalloys, ceramics, composites, nanocomposites) aligned with industry standards.
- Define and develop coating system architectures, including multi‑layer Thermal Barrier Coatings (TBCs) and related high‑temperature protective systems.
- Investigate, qualify, and implement advanced and existing materials for demanding high‑temperature environments.
- Address material‑related challenges such as substitutions and obsolescence.
- Prepare manufacturing quality notifications and conduct failureroot‑cause analysis.
- Lead and design material testing campaigns (high‑temperature tensile, creep, creep‑rupture, low‑cycle, thermo‑mechanical fatigue).
- Interpret and correlate experimental results to derive actionable engineering insights.
- Combine simulation (finite‑element, multi‑physics, ICME) with experimental validation to support material selection and performance prediction.
- Collect, analyze, and evaluate material data using established and advanced methodologies.
- Contribute to cross‑functional engineering teams for technology development and product innovation.
- Provide expertise in mechanical design and material integration for optimal performance and reliability.
- Support system‑level decision‑making through material selection, trade‑offs, and performance evaluation.
- Foster collaboration within teams and across global engineering and innovation centers.
- Promote knowledge sharing across material domains (metals, ceramics, composites).
- Work closely with design, manufacturing, and R&D teams to accelerate innovation and implementation.
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master/Bachelor/Diploma) or comparable qualification.
- 8+ years of work experience in mechanical design and development with a strong focus on material selection.
- Knowledge of mechanical design principles.
- Proficiency in specifying and implementing different materials based on application.
- Proven track record of co‑creation with customers or similar collaborative projects.
- High energy, enthusiasm, and a results‑oriented mindset that benefits the company and Innovation Center.
- Willingness to undertake challenging projects supporting the growth of the ICA.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to drive quick results.
- Excellent English language skills.
