OpportunityStantecs Management Consulting Group in the Middle East is looking for a senior consultant to work closely with our client in a transformation journey for their Drainage Network Maintenance Departments supply chain maturity.
Role OverviewThe Water/Wastewater Expert will lead the design, planning, and implementation of drainage and wastewater infrastructure projects for our client in the Middle East. This role demands deep technical expertise in hydraulic modeling of urban drainage systems and sanitation networks with a strong emphasis on developing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Levels to ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and engineering of stormwater wastewater and sanitation networks, including pipe systems, pumping stations, culverts, and CSOs.
- Develop unified hydraulic models and conduct telemetry verification to optimize network performance.
- Apply multi‑objective optimization techniques to balance CAPEX, OPEX, and serviceability goals.
- Oversee project execution from feasibility to commissioning, ensuring alignment with client expectations and regulatory standards.
- Prepare and manage Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), QA checklists, and delivery program tools to ensure high‑quality outputs.
- Attend stakeholder meetings to provide technical updates and resolve queries.
- Define and monitor KPIs and Service Levels for drainage and wastewater systems to ensure compliance with local authority standards.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis for pollution incidents and flooding, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in drainage and wastewater infrastructure projects, with at least 5 years of demonstrable experience in the Middle East.
- Membership in professional bodies such as MCIWEM is preferred.
- Proficiency in hydraulic modeling tools such as Info Works, SewerGEMS, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Familiarity with international and regional codes and standards.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
