Synopsis

Develops technical solutions, provides cabin interiors substantiations, produces Engineering Data and issue controlled-Engineering Documents to support aircraft in Major cabin modification “EASA STCs”. LDE will ensure that the data he produces complies with the company’s Design Organization Handbook (DOH) and the procedures defined in the company’s Design Organization Procedures (DOP).This involves GCAA CAR 21 and EASA P21 sub part J design and certification.

Accountabilities
  • Produce Quality Design Data to deliver complete and correct Engineering and Certification Documents on time and in line with the Project Work Scope.
  • Capable of simulating and analyzing cabin interiors flammability, cabin safety and integrity while considering any cabin interior modification.
  • Produce the required design Substantiation Data Package/ flammability, cabin safety reports and Means of Compliance for the Certification Program to fulfill the Design Approval process with the Airworthiness Authorities.
  • Management of the certification process for STC/major modification i.e. the Design Organization Handbook and Procedures.
  • Ensure timely release of design engineering documents, applicable Drawings, Manual Supplements, and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness for preparations of aircraft return to service after modification. Resolve any Design Engineering issues arising before or during the implementation.
  • Support the review of the working instructions and certification document(s) developed by the other Engineers within the scope of DOA Part 21J.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in the field of Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering and +7 years’ experience in cabin interior design changes and substantiation.
  • Experience in design/development engineering in an EASA/GCAA Part 21J organization (equivalent FAA experience is acceptable) or TC holder or at a DOA/POA with similar scope to EYEng. Minimum 3 years of previous experience as a Compliance Verification Engineer.
  • Formal training in Part 21J applicable courses is preferred.
