Responsibilities
- Prepare laboratory setups for scheduled practical classes, arranging equipment, instruments and experiment materials.
- Assist faculty and students during lab sessions to ensure experiments are conducted accurately, efficiently and safely.
- Maintain, troubleshoot and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Inspect, test, diagnose and repair faulty electrical and electronic devices.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of laboratory components, tools and consumables; report shortages and assist with procurement requests.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety rules and support the implementation of safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Support faculty in developing new experimental setups and instructional materials.
- Maintain cleanliness, orderliness and proper labelling of lab equipment and storage areas.
- Document lab activities, maintenance logs and calibration records.
- Provide technical support during student projects, workshops and departmental events.
- Possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field, demonstrating a strong foundational knowledge base.
- Holds relevant certifications, such as those from the Electronics Technicians Association (ETA), showcasing a commitment to professional development.
- Demonstrates a minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience in an electrical engineering laboratory setting, with proven technical proficiency.
- Exhibits a solid understanding of industry‑standard practices and regulations, ensuring compliance and safety.
