Senior Welding QC Engineer

Archirodon, an international contractor known for its engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) expertise, is seeking a Senior Welding QC Engineer to join our quality controls team in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

• Assists in the preparation of quality documentation, including Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and review of construction documents for compliance with project quality requirements related to welding work.
• Monitors all phases and processes required for the effective completion of all welding work, particularly issues of design, procurement, construction, and final hand‑over.
• Monitors implementation of Method Statements and Inspection & Test Plans for welding activities, ensuring all necessary records are generated timely in the area of assigned responsibility.
• Manages the inspection and testing of welding activities in the area of assigned responsibilities, including monitoring the work of QC inspectors under authority.
• Monitors the close‑out of punch lists established for incomplete welding activities.
• Monitors all measurement & testing instruments employed for welding to ensure they are functional and calibrated.
• Witnesses, reviews and approves welder qualifications, WPS, and PQR qualifications.
• Liaises and coordinates with third‑party testing/inspection company as required related to welding activities.
• Conducts statistical analysis and evaluation of test data related to welding activities.
• Prepares, files, and maintains test/inspection records and any other quality records generated related to welding activities.
• Assists construction personnel to identify and resolve problems and potential or actual non‑conformances related to welding activities.
• Advises the QC manager of non‑conformance occurrences and, where necessary, raises a Non‑conformance Report and monitors closure and effectiveness of corrective action.
• Assists the QC manager in undertaking periodic audits, including those of sub‑contractors and suppliers, in particular technical compliance audits in their field of specialization.
• Attends and witnesses all client verification of work (inspection, test and the like) on site, and coordinates close‑out of any outstanding issues related to welding activities.
• Assists in the preparation of final document for certification where required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Metallurgy Engineering;
  Master’s degree in Welding preferred.
• At least 15 years of experience in welding‑related activities within the oil & gas project environment (ADNOC experience required).
• Professional certification in welding engineering (IWE, CWE).
• ASNT Level II in RT, UT, MT and PT.
• Certified ISO 9001:2015 Internal auditor; lead auditor preferred.
• Certified 3.1 CSWIP required; 3.2 preferred.
• Knowledgeable in welding processes and procedures in line with ASME SEC IX, AWS D1.1, API 1104, ISO 13847, SHELL DEP, ADNOC specifications; familiar with welding defect identification and root‑cause analysis.
• Experience with welding repair data and welder performance monitoring.
• O&G project experience.

• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, exercising professional judgment and coordination skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
