The Senior Cost Control Engineer is responsible for developing cost structures, monitoring project expenditures, analyzing financial performance, and preparing monthly reports (CCR, CTC, EVA, PCR). The role involves coordinating with all project disciplines, verifying procurement and subcontractor reports, assessing risks, and ensuring that project costs align with budgets and KPIs.
- Implement day-to-day cost control operations in compliance with SOPs.
- Develop R0 project budgets by assigning Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) to BOQ dry costs from the estimation department.
- Update project budgets to include variations, claims, and additions/omissions.
- Create project geographic areas in coordination with construction teams and project schedules.
- Implement construction team assignments to generate responsibility-level reports.
- Verify weekly productivity and actual cost reports for in-house activities; flag variances and develop corrective action plans.
- Generate monthly reports including CCR, EVA, CTC, and PCR, highlighting cost overruns and low KPIs.
- Verify payment applications, certified payments, expected revenues, and monitor overdue payments.
- Check subcontractor responsibility matrices and coordinate with construction teams to ensure compliance on site.
- Verify procurement reports (Soum Soum) and track procurement impact on project KPIs.
- Monitor actual progress versus planned; analyze causes of variance, leading delays, and prepare lookahead reports.
- Follow up on NCRs with the quality team to minimize cost impacts.
- Monitor engineering progress, actual costs, and rates; verify success ratios and KPIs.
- Prepare comparisons between actual vs. planned project histograms (staff, workers, and equipment).
- Assist in preparing risk assessment reports and finalize them with project teams and PM.
- Use software/systems such as SAP, Cost Pro, AYAPP, and Soum Soum for monitoring and controlling project costs.
Required Qualifications & Competencies:
- Completion of PMP course, Primavera training, and PBI training.
- 6–9 years of experience in Engineering / Project Cost Control.
- Strong business acumen and financial awareness.
- Proficient in data collection, analysis, reporting, and technological tools.
- Excellent English communication and writing skills.
- Knowledge of policies, procedures, and project control standards.
