Overview
We are currently looking for a Planning Manager to be part of a team based in Abu Dhabi.
Responsibilities- Develop initial baseline schedules with limited project information.
- Assist in the preparation and management of overview and strategic programmes, including design, procurement and construction schedules.
- Include all project stages from initiation to completion and identify stage gates.
- Coordinate and manage the preparation and development of master planning, engineering, procurement and construction schedules.
- Establish and agree on project reporting procedures; prepare and present monthly project progress reports.
- Develop project and programme dashboard templates to be used across the programme by designers and contractors.
- Review schedules and related documents from designers and contractors, including monthly reports, and analyse the content to ensure compliance with project objectives.
- Review schedule trends to identify problem areas and recommend corrective action to management.
- Monitor actual progress against planned progress; monitor engineering design progress, material and equipment procurement, construction and commissioning status.
- Prepare progress monitoring tools using earned value for management and monitoring of the schedules.
- Identify deviations, progress trends and suggest possible corrective actions.
- Work closely with the Project Controls Manager and Project Team to ensure that the programme is feasible, complies with the Project Master Plan and contractual documents.
- Interface on a daily basis with designers, PMCs, main contractors, sub‑contractors and internal management.
- Conduct studies into scheduling, manpower, cash flow and material flow as needed.
- Attend offsite meetings as requested by the client.
- Review schedules for slippage of key dates and assist in the defence and approval of any claim for time extension or major change to the schedule.
- Perform other duties as requested from time to time.
- Degree in construction management and/or civil engineering.
- Membership or chartership from a construction‑related professional body.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in planning and scheduling.
- Good track record of working on heritage, hotels, master planning, museum, cultural or pavilion projects.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in the region.
- Arabic speaking and writing is an advantage.
