Lead Planning Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and monitor integrated project schedules using Primavera P6 in accordance with project and contractual requirements.
• Prepare baseline schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS) and resource-loaded plans for engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
• Monitor project progress, identify schedule variances and recommend corrective and recovery actions to achieve project milestones.
• Perform critical path analysis, schedule forecasting, and earned value analysis to support effective project decision-making.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction QA/QC and subcontractors to ensure timely execution of project activities.
• Prepare and present weekly and monthly progress reports, S-curves, dashboards, look-ahead schedules and management presentations.
• Conduct delay analysis and support Extension of Time (EOT) claims by assessing schedule impacts and maintaining accurate planning records.
• Monitor resource utilization, manpower histograms, and productivity trends, recommending optimization measures where necessary.
• Identify planning and scheduling risks, develop mitigation strategies and support overall project risk management initiatives.
• Lead planning meetings with internal teams, clients, consultants and subcontractors to ensure alignment with project objectives and contractual milestones.

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in planning and scheduling within the construction or engineering sector.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI-SP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Proven experience with project management software like Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
