Overview
Lead Rotating Equipment Engineer – Offshore Island Project. The position is based in UAE (Abu Dhabi) with relocation to Spain Office and then return to Abu Dhabi as the administrative processes are completed.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and engineering activities related to rotating equipment for offshore oil & gas facilities.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and approval of equipment datasheets, technical specifications, material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and vendor drawings and documents.
- Manage the design and selection of centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, gas turbines, steam turbines, pumps, blowers and fans, diesel engines, generators, and package equipment.
- Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards and international codes such as API, ISO, ASME, and IEC.
- Coordinate closely with Process, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, Structural, and Procurement teams.
- Review vendor proposals and conduct technical clarification meetings.
- Support procurement, inspection, testing, factory acceptance tests (FAT), construction, commissioning, and start-up activities.
- Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, Design Reviews, and Constructability Reviews.
- Resolve technical issues, engineering deviations, and site queries during project execution.
- Monitor engineering schedules and ensure timely delivery of rotating equipment packages.
- Mentor and guide rotating equipment engineers and project team members.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Master's Degree is an added advantage.
- Professional Engineering certification is preferred.
- Minimum 18–20 years of experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, LNG, Refinery, or Offshore EPC projects.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Lead Rotating Engineer role.
- Proven experience in FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC, and Brownfield projects.
- Extensive experience working on ADNOC Offshore, ADNOC Gas, Saudi Aramco, Qatar Energy, or other major Middle East energy projects.
- Experience with offshore platforms, gas compression stations, processing facilities, and offshore production complexes is highly preferred.
- Strong expertise in rotating equipment design, selection, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of API 610, API 617, API 618, API 612, API 616, API 614, API 670.
- Equipment performance analysis and reliability engineering.
- Vibration analysis and condition monitoring.
- Mechanical seals, bearings, lubrication systems, and auxiliary packages.
- Vendor package management and technical bid evaluation.
- Familiarity with ADNOC Engineering Standards and Specifications.
- Commissioning and start-up support for rotating equipment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent stakeholder and client relationship management.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple equipment packages and project priorities.
- Commitment to HSE, quality assurance, and operational reliability.
- Recent ADNOC Offshore project experience.
- Experience on large offshore EPC projects exceeding USD 100 million.
- Proven track record in gas compression, power generation, water injection, and hydrocarbon processing facilities.
- Hands-on involvement in commissioning, performance testing, and troubleshooting of critical rotating equipment.
- Strong experience managing multidisciplinary engineering interfaces and vendor packages in offshore environments.
