Black & Grey HR is seeking a Project Engineer – Offshore & Subsea to join our client's offshore project delivery team based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This is a permanent office‑based role with offshore and field travel as required throughout the project cycle, supporting the engineering delivery of offshore survey, subsea, and marine projects from execution planning through to project close‑out.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, review, and maintain project engineering documentation including technical specifications, engineering calculations, method statements, work packs, and project procedures.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of project execution plans, engineering schedules, deliverable registers, technical trackers, and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate engineering activities with internal discipline engineers, offshore teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure timely delivery of engineering outputs and resolution of technical queries.
  • Review engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with project specifications, client requirements, company standards, and applicable industry codes.
  • Manage engineering change control, Requests for Information (RFIs), technical queries, and deviation registers while ensuring accurate documentation and timely approvals.
  • Assist with material take‑offs, procurement support, technical bid evaluations, vendor document reviews, and equipment selection to meet project requirements.
  • Support offshore campaign planning by participating in pre‑mobilisation engineering reviews, vessel readiness assessments, equipment verification, and technical risk mitigation activities.
  • Prepare engineering progress reports, technical presentations, and project updates for internal management meetings and client progress reviews.
  • Monitor engineering deliverables, identify technical risks and interface issues, and recommend practical solutions to maintain project schedules and quality objectives.
  • Maintain engineering records, project documentation, and lessons‑learned registers while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Structural, Civil, Marine, Subsea, or a related Engineering discipline.
  • 4–8 years of project engineering experience within offshore, subsea, marine, or offshore survey environments.
  • Strong understanding of offshore engineering principles, subsea systems, marine operations, and offshore installation methodologies.
  • Experience preparing engineering documentation, technical specifications, work packs, method statements, and engineering deliverables.
  • Knowledge of engineering change management, RFI processes, technical deviations, procurement support, and vendor document reviews.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams, offshore personnel, vendors, and subcontractors throughout project execution.
  • Strong planning, technical coordination, analytical, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage multiple engineering priorities.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering documentation management systems.
  • Experience supporting ADNOC or other regional offshore energy projects is highly desirable.
Certifications (Please attach below certificates)
  • BOSIET or HUET — must be valid and current. Candidates with an expired BOSIET/HUET will not be shortlisted. Please attach a copy of your certificate with your application.
  • ADNOC Facility Access Approval — held or a clearly documented ability to obtain. Candidates who have previously held ADNOC access or worked on ADNOC‑approved projects are at a significant advantage.
  • Relevant engineering or discipline‑specific certifications are advantageous.
  • Knowledge of IMCA guidelines and offshore engineering best practices is advantageous.
