Job TitleSenior HSE Engineer – Offshore Site
K is growing its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for an exciting, high‑profile offshore development in Abu Dhabi. The ADNOC PMC project role would be based in the Contractor's Office and later move to the offshore site on a 6/3 or 4/4 cycle.
Job PurposeThe Senior HSE Engineer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs at offshore operations. The role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and international standards while promoting a strong safety culture across offshore activities.
Key Responsibilities- HSE Management & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with company HSE policies, offshore regulations, and international standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
- Monitor offshore operations to ensure adherence to safety procedures and environmental guidelines.
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments of offshore activities.
- Verify implementation of permit‑to‑work (PTW) systems, confined space entry, lifting operations, and high‑risk activities.
- Lead hazard identification (HAZID), job safety analysis (JSA), and risk assessments.
- Identify potential hazards and recommend mitigation measures.
- Monitor critical safety barriers and ensure effectiveness in preventing incidents.
- Lead and participate in incident/accident investigations using root‑cause analysis techniques.
- Prepare detailed reports and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Track and monitor incident trends and recommend improvement initiatives.
- Support development and execution of emergency response plans.
- Conduct emergency drills (fire, evacuation, spill response, etc.).
- Ensure availability and readiness of emergency equipment.
- Deliver HSE training, toolbox talks, and safety briefings to offshore personnel.
- Promote a proactive safety culture and behavioral safety programs.
- Mentor and coach teams on safe work practices.
- Monitor environmental impacts including waste management, emissions, and spill control.
- Ensure compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
- Support sustainability initiatives and environmental reporting.
- Contractor & Workforce Management
- Ensure contractors comply with company HSE standards.
- Participate in contractor HSE evaluations and onboarding processes.
- Monitor contractor performance and conduct regular reviews.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, and compliance documentation.
- Prepare weekly/monthly HSE reports for management.
- Track KPIs such as LTIFR, TRIR, near misses, and audit findings.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Safety, Mechanical, Chemical, or related field).
- Minimum 15 years of HSE experience, with at least 8 years in offshore oil & gas projects.
- Experience in EPC, drilling, production, or maintenance offshore environments.
- NEBOSH IGC / NEBOSH Diploma
- IOSH Managing Safely / Chartered Membership (CMIOSH – preferred)
- Offshore survival certification (BOSIET/FOET + HUET)
- First Aid, Fire Fighting training
- Strong knowledge of offshore safety standards and regulations.
- Expertise in risk assessment and incident investigation methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in high‑risk and remote offshore environments.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
