Job Description
The role ensures that all wet utility submissions from third-party developers comply with AD Ports’ development standards, utility authority regulations, and long-term infrastructure planning requirements.
Responsibilities- Review wet utility designs including water distribution, firefighting systems, sewer networks, irrigation lines, and stormwater drainage layouts to ensure compliance with AD Ports’ guidelines and local authority regulations.
- Evaluate hydraulic calculations, demand assessments, pump sizing, pipe routing, manhole layouts, retention systems, and overall network capacity.
- Check integration of proposed wet utility systems with existing and planned infrastructure to ensure connectivity, adequate capacity, and operational feasibility.
- Issue Master Developer/Owner wet utility NOCs for authority submissions after consolidating internal and multi‑disciplinary comments.
- Coordinate with utility authorities such as ADDC, ADSSC, and relevant municipal entities regarding connection points, diversion requirements, and compliance approvals.
- Assess development impacts on existing wet utility networks and recommend necessary upgrades, diversions, or mitigation measures.
- Review stormwater management plans including detention/retention basins, overland flow paths, flood protection measures, and sustainability considerations.
- Support plot‑level applications involving new wet utility connections, diversions, service upgrades, or modifications to existing networks.
- Participate in technical meetings with developers, consultants, and authorities to resolve comments and align designs with regulatory expectations.
- Ensure all designs consider long‑term operation, maintenance access, safety, and resilience, especially in industrial and logistics‑focused sites.
- Maintain accurate records of wet utility approvals, load allocations, network capacities, and infrastructure commitments.
- Prepare technical reports, review summaries, cover letters, and wet‑utility‑related authority submissions.
- Stay up to date on wet utility regulations, design standards, hydraulic modelling requirements, and best practices applicable to Abu Dhabi and UAE industrial environments.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or associated field. Master’s Degree or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Urban Planning with a multi‑disciplinary approach.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, hydraulic modelling tools, GIS, and other wet utility design and analysis software.
- Able to interpret hydraulic modelling outputs, network simulations, pipe sizing, pump capacities, and stormwater drainage calculations.
- Capable of preparing sketches, mark‑ups, and quick layout diagrams to support design reviews and technical discussions.
