Role OverviewSeeking a Senior Functional Safety Engineer to support the development of safety‑critical and autonomous vehicle systems.
The role focuses on functional safety and SOTIF activities, including HARA, FSC, TSC, FTA, and FMEA, with a strong understanding of how safety requirements are verified, validated, and argued at the system level.
We are looking for an engineer with a minimum of 6 years of experience who can independently perform safety analyses and contribute to safety concepts while operating within an established safety governance and validation framework.
As a growing company, we need someone who is proactive, resourceful, and able to actively search for information, solutions, and best practices not just execute tasks but also help shape and mature our safety processes as we scale.
Functional Safety (ISO 26262)- Perform Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) at item and system level, including severity, exposure, cont rollability, and ASIL classification.
- Develop and maintain inputs to the Functional Safety Concept (FSC), including safety goals and functional safety requirements.
- Support derivation of the Technical Safety Concept (TSC) by allocating technical safety requirements to system elements.
- Maintain traceability between hazards, safety goals, and safety requirements.
- Support SOTIF hazard identification and scenario analysis, including triggering conditions.
- Contribute to definition of SOTIF risk mitigation measures, such as operational constraints, monitoring functions, and degradation strategies.
- Perform Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) to support analysis of hazardous events and safety goal violations.
- Perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) at system or interface level.
- Support safety architecture discussions, including ASIL decomposition, fault containment, and safe state concepts.
- Assess safety‑related system behavior during abnormal conditions, degraded modes, and transitions.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degrees in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in automotive or safety‑critical systems engineering.
- Practical experience applying ISO 26262 in at least one development project.
- Hands‑on experience performing or supporting: HARA, FSC and/or TSC, FTA, FMEA.
- Exposure to SOTIF concepts for ADAS, autonomy, or complex control functions.
- Strong technical knowledge of engineering safety principles.
- Attention to detail and risk awareness.
- Ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Adaptability in dynamic and innovative environments.
