Responsibilities
Champion the Project Safety culture behaviors and engagement activities. Identifying, evaluating, and resolving Project Management issues during the early work phase and FEED phases of the Project. Identifying, evaluating, and resolving electrical Engineering issues. Act on behalf of and as authorized by Owner on all matters with respect to the EPC FEED Contractor and shall coordinate Project activities. Review and approve within the specified approval durations the Contractor key deliverables and other works within the electrical discipline ensuring compliance with design requirements which involves the interpretation and review of calculations, specifications, plans, investigations, surveys, structures, system or equipment with relatively few complex features.
Attend regular or as needed meetings at EPC FEED Contractor’s Engineering offices and construction Site offices to discuss the progress of EPC FEED Contractor’s Engineering, Procurement and Construction activities. Review and approve the following Contractor’s deliverables. Review and approve key design documents from Vendors, equipment manufacturers or Subcontractors and prepare comments and recommendations incorporating any comments received from the Owner.
Attend technical meeting with Owner, Licensor, Contractor and Vendors. Attend all Project technical sessions by the Contractor such as Design Review Meetings, 3D Model Review Meeting, Constructability, SIL, EIA, HAZOP and HAZID etc. Ensuring that the Project quality procedures are established, maintained and implemented by the EPC FEED Contractor. Ensure quality and accuracy of Contractor’s Engineering design activities, system integration and design selection.
Supervise and manage the review and approval of Contractor’s work ensuring compliance with Owner and Project specifications, relevant codes and standards and industry best practices. Coordinate the required Engineering participation in the development and analysis of various design options and business models. Contribute input and expertise in the development and analysis of various design options and business models to ensure design optimization and validation for the Owner.
Coordinate other discipline Engineer’s participation in layout reviews, design reviews and technical workshops. Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline Engineers. Coordinate auditing activities of the EPC FEED Contractor and ensure that the recommendations for improvement are implemented. Manage and coordinate interface activities between the EPC FEED Contractor, Owner as well as with outside third parties. Coordinate technical reviews and analysis during vendor prequalification, bid evaluation and performance evaluation.
Coordinate the review of technical bid submissions and perform technical bid analysis.
A bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry including a minimum of five (5) years preferred in the GCC region. Must have at least five (5) years of experience in a similar position on major Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects managing a team of Specialists, Senior Engineers and Engineers ADNOC & Offshore project experience is preferred PMC experiences are preferable.
Experience in FEED & EPC Phases is required.
