Antenna Engineer
Job Description & How to Apply Below
Pulse Nova, the strategic joint venture between EDGE and Indra, is building advanced radar and sensing capabilities to support next-generation defense and security systems. We are seeking an experienced Antenna Engineer to lead the design, development, validation, and integration of high-performance antenna solutions for radar applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead the design, development, and optimization of antenna architectures for radar systems, including radiating elements, subarrays, array structures, feeding networks, and associated integration concepts where applicable.
- Define antenna requirements from system-level performance needs, translating radar objectives into electrical and mechanical design targets such as gain, bandwidth, beamwidth, polarization, efficiency, sidelobe levels, scanning performance, and aperture constraints.
- Perform electromagnetic simulation, design optimization, and technical trade‑off analyses using industry‑standard tools such as HFSS, CST, or equivalent, ensuring alignment between theoretical performance and implementation feasibility.
- Develop antenna verification strategies and lead test campaigns, including impedance characterization, radiation pattern measurement, gain and polarization assessment, and correlation between simulation and measured results.
- Support integration of antenna solutions into radar assemblies, ensuring compatibility with RF front ends, TR modules, radomes, mechanical packaging, thermal constraints, and platform-level performance requirements.
- Work closely with RF, TRM, mechanical, manufacturing, and systems engineering teams to ensure end‑to‑end antenna performance, producibility, and successful subsystem integration.
- Provide technical leadership in design reviews, failure investigations, requirements allocation, risk reduction activities, and roadmap definition for future antenna and aperture technologies.
- Ensure technical documentation is complete, traceable, and aligned with internal engineering practices, qualification needs, and customer expectations.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline.
- 7+ years of experience in antenna engineering, electromagnetic design, and validation of high-performance RF systems.
- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of electromagnetics, antenna arrays, propagation, matching, and radiation mechanisms.
- Proven experience with EM simulation tools and interpretation of laboratory / chamber measurement results.
- Experience with radar, EW, SATCOM, or other defense/aerospace antenna applications is highly desirable.
- Ability to lead technical activities across multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex technical issues clearly.
- Familiarity with environmental, qualification, and reliability requirements applicable to mission‑critical defense systems.
