Senior Wet Utilities Engineer

Job DescriptionParsons is looking for an experienced Senior Wet Utilities Engineer to lead mid‑level and junior engineers and digital staff in the timely and efficient production of quality designs for drainage and wet utilities projects.
Responsibilities- Provide technical guidance to Engineers and Designers.
- Supervise design plan and profile production for entire projects of small scale.
- Lead development of more complex plans.
- Review plans and profiles for technical compliance with design objectives and clarity for construction.
- Develop simple workflows and templates to enable efficient repetition of design.
- Apply advanced engineering principles to complex analytical models.
- Check design deliverables from equal or less experienced Engineers.
- Develop the baseline design schedule for a small team at the start of each task.
- Track progress of task assignments versus the original baseline schedule.
- Contribute as a productive and efficient team member to meet project deadlines.
- Serve as primary interface with client on all matters relating to work assignments for one engineering discipline.
- Mentor staff on technical aspects and conduct on‑site training of personnel.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s Degree preferred).
- 8+ years of related drainage design experience.
- Professional Engineer registration preferred (PE, Peng or CEng).
- Thorough knowledge of current technology to select and apply appropriate engineering software.
- Ability to mentor staff on Engineering Software such as Info Works ICM applications and processes.
- Capability to determine methods and solutions for complex engineering problems in an efficient and economical manner.
- Familiarity with industry practices, codes and regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective communication with client, management and project personnel on technical and non‑technical subjects.
- Proficient in commonly used complex engineering software (e.g., Info Works ICM) and understand application of engineering principles.
- Understanding of QA/QC standard practices and procedures and ability to guide staff.
- Proficiency in non‑standard detailing and drafting special provisions for specialty elements.
- Good understanding of preparation of design reports.
- Potential to perform in a leadership capacity.
- Provide input for design estimates for projects.
- Track hours per task/sheet in design deliverables.
- Support preparation of competitive technical and commercial proposals.
- Assist in the initial LOE necessary to cover all work within the proposed scope with minimal supervision.
- Ability to review, identify and propose mitigation of risks within proposed scope.
- Ability to clearly define and provide technical queries to clarify scope ambiguities.
- Develop workflow processes and specify staff as per project requirements.
