Job Overview
Act as the company s source of engineering project management expertise for the relevant Operational Area, providing high‑quality engineering project‑management advice to Area Management and ensuring the efficient integration of Operations, Maintenance, Admin, Services and Capital Projects. Oversee the Company s full Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) programme for the area, including planning, control and reporting to ensure that the modification, improvement and replacement of process equipment and plant property are carried out in line with corporate objectives and best engineering principles.
Responsibilities• Lead and coordinate day‑to‑day engineering project‑management activities within the area and with EPCM, EPC and operations counterparts, ensuring timely turnover of engineering documents.
• Support the Engineering Area Manager in technical optimisation and smooth handover of systems and facilities.
• Review and approve technical documents to avoid variations and delays.
• Contribute to Area KPIs and solve technical concerns with the Area Manager.
• Clarify technical packages and highlight issues, improvements and cost‑saving opportunities.
• Advise Construction and POV teams during site walk‑downs; provide technical observations.
• Participate in facility design reviews, hazard and HAZOP workshops, and Quality Assurance/Control activities.
• Prioritise and manage the 5‑year CAPEX programme with Area Management and Finance.
• Provide accurate technical and cost information to Supply and Finance Managers to plan and apply capital resources efficiently.
• Analyse customer needs and evaluate alternative solutions, prioritising safety, environmental and reliability aspects.
• Identify bottlenecks in existing process systems and propose re‑engineering solutions to add value.
• Pro‑actively address repetitive maintenance issues to improve plant availability and asset utilisation.
• Directly monitor and evaluate engineering contractors to maintain health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Mentor Project Team members for professional development and align project strategies with customer needs.
The role holds decision‑making authority within established procedures and standards. It operates under managerial control and review, contains clear precedents and operational guidelines, and requires proactive engagement with modern technologies, equipment, and EHS initiatives.
Project Management ScopeAccountable for up to 10 concurrent projects with annual cash flow up to USD 10million and for deliverables with an overall budget up to USD 100million. The role directs a team of qualified engineers and technicians across various disciplines to meet scope, time, cost, and quality objectives.
Qualifications & Skills- Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation) from a recognised institution. - Minimum Experience:
5 years on similar projects. - Sound technical knowledge across relevant systems.
- Leadership, effective communication, coordination and interpersonal skills.
- Good supervisory, reporting and organisational skills.
- Advanced analytical, planning, problem‑solving and organisational skills.
