Overview

We are seeking an experienced Systems Integration Manager to join a major rail infrastructure programme in the UAE. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an individual with extensive rail systems integration experience, ideally gained within complex metro, mainline or high-speed rail projects.

The successful candidate will lead and manage all systems integration activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring seamless coordination between railway systems, subsystems, interfaces, contractors and stakeholders.

This role will suit an experienced rail professional who has successfully delivered large-scale, multidisciplinary rail projects and understands the complexities of integrating operational, engineering, construction, testing and commissioning requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the Project Systems Integration Strategy, ensuring alignment between engineering, construction, testing, commissioning, operations and maintenance requirements.
  • Define integration objectives, methodologies, governance processes and KPIs to monitor system performance and integration effectiveness.
  • Lead the management of system interfaces across multiple technical disciplines, packages and project stakeholders.
  • Identify, manage and mitigate integration risks, ensuring technical, contractual and operational challenges are effectively addressed.
  • Coordinate integration testing, verification and validation (V&V) activities to ensure successful system performance and operational readiness.
  • Oversee interface management processes, documentation, compliance records and integration deliverables.
  • Support design reviews, audits, safety assessments and system assurance activities.
  • Work closely with contractors, consultants, operators, authorities and project teams to resolve integration issues and maintain delivery alignment.
  • Support the transition from project delivery into operational service through effective handover, documentation and readiness activities.
Railway Systems Exposure

Candidates should have experience integrating complex rail systems, which may include:

  • Signalling and train control systems (ETCS / CBTC experience advantageous)
  • Telecommunications and operational communications systems
  • SCADA and control systems
  • Traction power and electrical systems
  • Rolling stock interfaces
  • Depot and maintenance systems
  • Passenger information, station and operational systems
  • Systems assurance, testing and commissioning environments
Requirements
  • Minimum 15 years' experience in Systems Integration Management within the rail sector
    .
  • Degree qualified in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Strong understanding of railway systems, interfaces and integration methodologies.
  • Experience working across multidisciplinary teams and managing complex stakeholder environments.
  • Strong knowledge of verification, validation, testing and commissioning processes.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and influence delivery partners across organisational boundaries.
  • High-Speed Rail experience is highly desirable.
