Job Title

Specialist Static and Package Equipment – Offshore Water Injection Project

Location

UAE (Abu Dhabi) – with subsequent relocation to a Spain office and later return to Abu Dhabi after administrative processes are completed.

Job Purpose

The Specialist Static & Package Equipment Engineer is responsible for the design, review, specification, procurement, installation, and commissioning support of static and packaged equipment associated with offshore water injection facilities. The role ensures that all equipment meets project requirements, industry standards, safety regulations, and operational performance objectives while supporting brownfield modifications and offshore integration activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead engineering activities related to static equipment including pressure vessels, separators, filters, tanks, heat exchangers, and pigging systems.
  • Develop and review equipment datasheets, specifications, material requisitions, and technical evaluations.
  • Perform mechanical design reviews in accordance with ASME, API, ADNOC, and international standards.
  • Review vendor drawings, calculations, manufacturing procedures, and inspection reports.
  • Ensure equipment integrity, reliability, maintainability, and operational suitability.
  • Manage engineering activities for packaged equipment such as Water Injection Pump Packages, Chemical Injection Skids, Produced Water Treatment Packages, Nitrogen Generation Systems, Instrument Air Packages, Utility Packages, and Filtration Packages.
  • Review package integration requirements and interface coordination with other disciplines.
  • Participate in vendor meetings, FATs, SATs, and technical clarification sessions.
  • Assess existing offshore facilities for tie‑ins and equipment upgrades.
  • Support brownfield modifications, shutdown activities, and offshore integration studies.
  • Conduct offshore site surveys, equipment assessments, and constructability reviews.
  • Ensure compatibility of new equipment with existing facilities and operating conditions.
  • Prepare technical requisitions and bid evaluation criteria.
  • Conduct technical bid evaluations and vendor selection processes.
  • Review vendor compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Monitor manufacturing progress and resolve technical issues during fabrication.
  • Support quality assurance and quality control activities.
  • Review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Participate in factory acceptance testing (FAT), equipment inspections, and performance testing.
  • Ensure compliance with project quality requirements and applicable codes.
  • Provide technical support during fabrication, construction, installation, and commissioning.
  • Assist in resolving site technical queries and non‑conformance reports.
  • Support pre‑commissioning, commissioning, startup, and performance testing activities.
  • Verify equipment readiness for handover to operations.
  • Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, constructability, SIL, and risk assessment studies.
  • Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements and process safety standards.
  • Support Management of Change (MOC) processes for brownfield modifications.
  • Promote asset integrity and operational safety throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Master’s Degree is an advantage.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent professional accreditation preferred.
Experience
  • 15–18 years of experience in Oil & Gas engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years in offshore EPC brownfield projects.
  • Strong experience with static and packaged equipment for offshore facilities.
  • Proven involvement in FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start‑up phases.
  • ADNOC offshore or Middle East project experience highly preferred.
  • Experience with offshore water injection and produced water treatment systems is advantageous.
Technical Competencies
  • Static Equipment:
    Pressure vessels, heat exchangers, filters and strainers, storage tanks, pig launchers and receivers, separators, mechanical design review.
  • Package Equipment:
    Water injection pump packages, chemical injection systems, filtration packages, produced water treatment units, utility packages, nitrogen generation systems, air compressor packages.
Codes & Standards
  • ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3, API 610, API 650, API 661, API 660, API 682, ADNOC Standards, ISO Standards.
Software Skills
  • PV Elite, Compress, HTRI, AutoCAD, Smart Plant Review, AVEVA Engineering, MS Office Suite.
