Mechanical Inspector (Lifting Inspector)

- Mechanical Engineering.
Fluency in English / Hindi
- Must.
- Monitor and inspect general lifting accessories, including chain slings, webbing slings, and wire rope slings
- Inspect bespoke lifting and handling equipment
- Inspect manually operated lifting equipment such as chain hoists, wire rope, lifting and pulling machines, and beam trolleys
- Inspect power-operated lifting equipment (electric, pneumatic, hydraulic powered systems, powered winches, etc.)
- Inspect runway beams and light crane structures
- Inspect electric overhead travelling cranes
- Inspect offshore cargo carrying units
- Examine mobile cranes
- Carry out inspection and testing work to industry specifications, on site or in workshops
- Complete necessary paperwork in line with procedures and industry specifications
- Assist with repairs and servicing of lifting equipment where required
- Adhere to regulations surrounding health and safety, quality and environmental protection
- Travel between different sites and workshops to work on common bits of construction kit
- Work in a fast-paced office environment completing administration work
- Maintain excellent knowledge of health and safety requirements
- Show passion for machinery and technical aspects of the industry
- Pick up new systems quickly that may be very technical
- Maintain high level of organisation and commitment to work
- Have good knowledge of inspection and testing techniques for different types of lifting equipment
- Possess in-depth understanding of general engineering
- Have experience carrying out method statements and risk assessments
- Maintain excellent personal organizational skills
- Pay attention to detail and accuracy when completing inspection and examination testing paperwork
- Work between 35 and 40 hours per week; may need overtime or cover other staff
