Senior Coastal Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop all required environmental documents, evaluate all technical documents, and participate in client meetings.
• Coordinate with hydrologists and design engineers to manage coastal resources effectively.
• Analyze coastal hazards and model hydrodynamics for various processes.
• Monitor project deliverables, participate in project plans, and facilitate the development of an effective project schedule.
• Monitor coastal shoreline restoration processes and assist in resolving mitigation processes.
• Administer projects for coastal restoration, develop plans to protect shoreline, and analyze coastal hazards and prepare flood plan maps.
• Analyze projects and develop budgets and schedules for coastal projects.
• Provide support to emergency activities in coastal regions.
• Determine met-ocean conditions, coastal processes, and project site conditions.
• Demonstrate a broad understanding of interdisciplinary coastal engineering and the role of modelling applications.
• Familiar with coastal engineering design for structures including design of breakwaters, revetments, seawalls, and scour protection systems.
• Understand sediment transport processes and navigations.
• Understand numerical modelling.
• Familiar with international codes and standards for coastal engineering and coastal structures.
• This is a generalist role; at times you may be asked to perform above/beyond the scope of the role due to operational requirements.

• Minimum of 8-10 years’ relevant experience
• Experience in dredging and the civil marine industry is preferable.

• B Sc. in Civil / Structural Engineering or equivalent professional certificate
• Additional qualifications desirable in multidisciplinary engineering areas
