Design Engineer – HydraulicsAbu Dhabi
Key Responsibilities Utility Design and Planning- Design wet utility systems, including potable water networks, sewer systems, and stormwater drainage systems.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, layouts, and schematics using CAD software.
- Develop hydraulic models to analyze and optimize system performance.
- Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to determine project requirements.
- Perform calculations for pipe sizing, flow rates, pressure losses, and system capacities.
- Evaluate environmental and topographical data to ensure proper system integration.
- Prepare technical reports, design specifications, and bill of quantities (BOQ).
- Ensure all designs comply with local regulations, codes, and standards.
- Maintain accurate records of design changes and project documentation.
- Work closely with architects, urban planners, and other engineering disciplines to integrate wet utility systems into broader infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth project execution.
- Identify and resolve design challenges or site‑specific issues during the design and construction phases.
- Provide technical support during construction, including reviewing shop drawings and responding to RFIs (Requests for Information).
- Ensure designs meet environmental sustainability goals and adhere to water conservation principles.
- Stay updated on advancements in wet utility technologies and industry best practices.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. - Experience:
minimum 5 years of experience in wet utility design or infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D)
- Experience with hydraulic modeling tools (e.g., EPANET, SewerGEMS, StormCAD, or Info Works).
- Strong understanding of water distribution, sewerage, and stormwater management systems.
- Familiarity with GIS software for utility mapping is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is an advantage.
