Overview
Structural Discipline Technical Authority Owner's Engineer. Serve as the primary authority for all structural engineering activities related to IA PA upgrades, ensuring adherence to ADNOC Structural Engineering Standards ISO API RP2A AISC BS and offshore structural codes, ADNOC offshore brownfield requirements, Project Basis of Design and FEED integrity. Provide clear oversight and final approval on structural discipline matters, and lead structural engineering governance for integrating Instrument Air Compressors, Plant Air Compressors, Twin Tower Dryers, IA PA Air Receivers, associated skid structures and platforms, lifting frames, base frames, and support steel.
Responsibilities- Verify skid loading static & dynamic reactions.
- Check structural adequacy of supporting platforms.
- Validate vendor structural information (CG weights, loads).
- Review equipment base plates, foundation pad skid supports.
- Ensure offshore environmental load conditions are considered.
- Approve structural reinforcement requirements.
- Lead Brownfield Structural Assessment & Tie-In Engineering tasks: assess existing deck load capacity, review as‑built drawings, laser scans, survey data, identify reinforcement needs, check space constraints and structural conflicts, ensure safe access and maintenance clearance, review EPC brownfield method statements, verify tie‑in locations for new supports, confirm deck rating suitability for compressors and dryers.
- Support safe brownfield execution under SIMOPS and offshore constraints.
- Review and confirm EPC contractor structural analyses, global and local FEA, deck load and punching shear checks, fatigue analysis if applicable, vibration assessments for rotating equipment, impact load accidental load checks, dynamic load & equipment vibration transmission, wind, wave & seismic load evaluation.
- Ensure all structural calculations meet ADNOC safety factors and design criteria.
- Perform 3D model review with cross‑discipline integration: validate equipment placement, support framing, clearances, access, maintenance envelopes, detect clashes with piping, E&I trays, cable trays, and assess structural stability and stiffness.
- Participate in 30, 60, 90 EPC model review sessions.
- Provide lifting, rigging & installation engineering oversight: review lifting plans, rigging studies, validate crane capacity, rigging points, padeyes, temporary lifting frames or lugs, ensure compliance with offshore lifting standards, verify transport & installation load conditions, support safe mechanical installation offshore.
- Support structural safety & process integrity: contribute structural input for HAZID, HAZOP, structural interface actions, SIMOPS reviews, ENVID, fire protection, blast loading where applicable.
- Review EPC structural deliverables: approve structural drawings, GA details, reinforcements, fabrication drawings, welding maps, WPS, PQR, NDE requirements, structural MTOs, tie‑in support drawings, offshore installation plans, structural demolition & modification drawings. Verify alignment with ADNOC formats and numbering.
- Provide OE‑level assurance during structural fabrication: review EPC QCP ITP, validate material traceability and weld quality, review NDT plans (UT, RT, MT, PT), monitor fabrication progress, approve structural works before delivery offshore.
- During field execution, support structural element installation guidance, resolve field modifications & clashes, prepare punch‑list, verify structural stability after installation, conduct as‑built validation and final acceptance documentation.
- Maintain structural discipline registers, load sheets, analyses, GA tracking; review weekly EPC progress and structural updates; track TQs, deviations, NCRs, and change requests; ensure compliance with ADNOC document control requirements; verify final as‑built structural documentation.
- Minimum 16+ years of experience in Oil & Gas industry.
- Master's / Bachelor's degree in Civil / Structural engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Experience with Offshore Platforms Projects is preferred.
- Familiarity with ADNOC Standards & Procedures is an added advantage.
- Proficient in AVEVA (E3D/PDMS) and SP3D for structural modelling, steel framing and platform design, clash detection, and extraction of structural GA drawings, fabrication details, IFC and MTO deliverables in accordance with ADNOC design standards.
- Experienced with SACS, STAAD, Ro, Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, Navisworks, AVEVA E3D and SP3D for offshore structural analysis, 3D modelling, detailing, and preparation of IFC/MTO deliverables as required for ADNOC projects.
