Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially driven Estimation & Invoicing Engineer – Ship Repair to prepare cost estimates, technical and commercial proposals, variation orders, and invoices for ship repair projects. The successful candidate will coordinate closely with clients, engineering, procurement, planning, and project teams to ensure accurate commercial documentation, effective cost control, and timely project billing.
Key Responsibilities- Receive customer enquiries, evaluate project requirements, and coordinate with clients to obtain complete technical and commercial information.
- Distribute the scope of work to relevant departments and obtain resource requirements based on engineering inputs and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
- Obtain quotations from subcontractors and suppliers through the Procurement Department and prepare accurate project cost estimates.
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals for management approval prior to submission to clients.
- Review Purchase Orders and project contracts upon award to verify scope of work, commercial terms, and contractual requirements.
- Coordinate Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG) requests where applicable.
- Prepare and issue job cards to Project Engineers and Planning teams.
- Prepare estimates and commercial proposals for variation orders and additional work requests.
- Coordinate with clients regarding variations, additional work, and commercial clarifications.
- Monitor project commercial status and support project teams throughout project execution.
- Collect signed Work Completion Reports (WCRs), prepare Proforma Invoices, and obtain management approval.
- Follow up with clients for invoice approval, revised Purchase Orders, and final commercial settlements.
- Prepare and submit Final Tax Invoices in accordance with company procedures.
- Prepare project performance evaluations and maintain complete commercial documentation for each project.
- Support the maintenance of Quotation Registers, Job Registers, Invoice Registers, and other commercial records.
- Ensure all estimation, variation, invoicing, and commercial activities comply with company procedures and contractual requirements.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Head of Estimation & Invoicing or Management.
Education:
Degree or Diploma in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Production Engineering.
Experience:
Minimum 5–10 years of relevant experience in estimation, commercial, or invoicing functions within Ship Repair, Marine, Oil & Gas, Offshore, or EPC industries.
Technical
Qualification:
Strong knowledge of ship repair estimation, BOQs, variation management, project costing, commercial documentation, and invoicing processes.
Skills:
Excellent commercial awareness, analytical ability, negotiation, communication, customer coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Software:
Proficient in MS Office. Experience with ERP systems and commercial management software is an advantage.
Knowledge:
Good understanding of ship repair processes, contracts, project lifecycle, cost estimation, invoicing procedures, and commercial controls.
