We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer – System Safety Analysis to lead the safety engineering lifecycle for advanced airborne platforms, ensuring compliance with international aerospace safety and airworthiness standards.
About the Role:As the Systems Engineer – System Safety Analysis
, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and managing system safety activities across the full product lifecycle. You will identify hazards, assess and mitigate risks, develop safety documentation, and ensure compliance with military and civil aerospace standards while working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams.
This role is ideal for a senior systems safety professional with extensive experience in UAVs, military aviation, commercial aircraft, or aerospace systems development.
Key Responsibilities:System Safety Engineering
- Develop and manage system safety requirements for UAV platforms, avionics, mission systems, and flight-critical systems.
- Lead Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), Preliminary System Safety Assessments (PSSA), System Safety Assessments (SSA), Fault Tree Analyses (FTA), FMEA/FMECA, Common Cause Analysis (CCA), and Particular Risk Analysis (PRA).
- Allocate Development Assurance Levels (DALs) and derive safety-driven system requirements.
- Ensure hazards are identified, mitigated, tracked, and closed throughout the development lifecycle.
- Assess system architectures to ensure redundancy, fault tolerance, independence, and integrity requirements are achieved.
- Conduct system-level safety assessments across avionics, flight controls, propulsion, electrical power, communication, fuel, hydraulic, landing gear, and mission systems.
- Support system integration, HIL testing, simulation campaigns, ground testing, and flight testing.
- Review verification and validation activities to ensure safety objectives are met.
- Analyse operational data, test results, and fault reports to verify safety assumptions and identify emerging risks.

- Support certification, qualification, and military airworthiness activities.
- Prepare and maintain safety plans, hazard logs, safety cases, certification evidence, and compliance reports.
- Lead safety work groups and provide technical guidance across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Mentor junior engineers in safety methodologies and compliance processes.
- Interface with customers, certification authorities, suppliers, and military airworthiness organizations.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Avionics Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Master's Degree in Aerospace, Systems Engineering, Safety Engineering, or Airworthiness is advantageous.
- 15+ years of experience within aerospace, defense, UAV, military aviation, or commercial aviation.
- Proven experience performing system safety assessments on airborne platforms.
- Experience working on safety-critical aircraft systems such as:
- Flight Control Systems
- Propulsion
- Fuel Systems
- Hydraulic Systems
- Landing Gear
- Electrical Power Systems
- Mission Systems
- Extensive experience applying:
- SAE ARP

- Experience supporting certification, airworthiness, or regulatory compliance programmes.

- Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.
- Ability to communicate complex safety concepts to multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience leading technical reviews and safety work groups.
- Strong systems-thinking mindset with a focus on airworthiness, reliability, and operational safety.
- Eligible to obtain UAE Defence/Security Clearance.
- Willingness to relocate to Abu Dhabi, UAE.
- Willing to travel internationally when required.
- Fluent English communication skills (Arabic is advantageous).
