QHSE Officer

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions ensuring adherence to QHSE standards
• Develop and implement robust training programs that enhance employee awareness and knowledge of health safety and environmental regulations
• Collaborate with management to establish and maintain a comprehensive QHSE management system tailored to the specific needs of the organization
• Investigate incidents and near misses thoroughly documenting findings and recommending preventive measures to mitigate future risks
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and industry practices ensuring the organization is always compliant with current standards
• Prepare and present detailed reports on QHSE performance metrics highlighting trends and areas for improvement to stakeholders
• Facilitate regular QHSE meetings and workshops that promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the workforce
• Coordinate emergency response drills and safety training ensuring readiness and compliance with local regulations and organizational policies

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety, or a related field, providing a solid foundation in QHSE principles.
• At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience in QHSE roles, demonstrating a proven track record of compliance and safety management.
• Certifications such as NEBOSH, ISO 45001, or ISO 14001, showcasing commitment to continuous professional development in QHSE.
• Experience in the oil and gas, construction, or manufacturing industries, where QHSE challenges and solutions are unique and complex.
• Fluency in English is mandatory, with additional language skills in Arabic or French as a significant advantage for diverse work environments.
• Strong analytical skills to assess risks and develop effective mitigation strategies tailored to specific operational contexts.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in QHSE management software and tools, enhancing efficiency in tracking compliance and safety performance.
