We are looking for a skilled Design
Manager – Trackwork to join our engineering team and contribute to high-impact projects in railway infrastructure projects
.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:Technical Leadership:
- Lead and manage the Trackwork design discipline across complex railway infrastructure projects.
- Oversee the design and development of:
- Horizontal and vertical track alignments
- Ballasted and slab track systems
- Turnouts and crossovers
- Depot and yard track layouts
- Special trackwork and interface systems
- Provide expert technical guidance and resolve complex engineering challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure all designs comply with client requirements, project specifications, and international railway standards.
- Review engineering calculations, reports, drawings, and design deliverables to ensure technical excellence and consistency.
- Support the development and implementation of design methodologies, standards, and quality assurance procedures.
- Collaborate closely with Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, Signaling, OCS, Power, Telecommunications, Systems, and BIM teams.
- Lead technical workshops, design reviews, constructability studies, and value engineering sessions.
- Review contractor submissions, RFIs, design changes, and technical proposals.
- Mentor and develop Trackwork engineers and designers.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Manage design resources, workload planning, and project delivery schedules.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related discipline.
- Master's Degree and Chartered Engineer (CEng), PE, or equivalent certification are advantageous.
- 15+ years of railway experience with a strong focus on Trackwork design.
- Proven leadership in Trackwork design delivery for major railway infrastructure projects.
- Experience across Concept, Preliminary, Detailed, and IFC design stages.
- Strong knowledge of track alignment, track geometry, ballasted and slab track systems, turnouts, crossovers, depot layouts, and special trackwork.
- Familiarity with international railway standards such as UIC, EN, and AREMA.
- Proficiency in Open Rail Designer, Micro Station, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, or similar railway design software.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Experience on large-scale railway projects with international consultancies.
- Knowledge of GCC railway standards and authority requirements.
- Experience with BIM-enabled delivery and UIC‑compliant designs.
