Job Overview

A leading Oil & Gas organization is seeking an experienced Petroleum Engineer for a contract position based in Abu Dhabi, UAE, with frequent offshore visits as required. This opportunity is ideal for petroleum engineering professionals with expertise in wireline operations and Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) completion design and operations. The successful candidate will contribute to upstream Oil & Gas projects while supporting safe, efficient, and reliable production operations.

As a Petroleum Engineer, you will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering and offshore teams to optimize production performance, support well completion activities, and implement engineering best practices. Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and support petroleum engineering activities for onshore and offshore operations.
  • Design, evaluate, and optimize Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) completion systems.
  • Support wireline operations and well intervention activities.
  • Monitor well performance and recommend production optimization strategies.
  • Collaborate with drilling, production, and reservoir engineering teams.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, engineering specifications, and HSE requirements.
  • Analyze production data and prepare technical reports.
  • Participate in offshore engineering activities as required.
  • Identify operational risks and recommend engineering improvements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to maximize production efficiency.
Requirements & Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of extensive experience in petroleum engineering within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Hands-on experience in wireline operations
    .
  • Specialized experience in Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) completion design and operations
    .
