K Abu Dhabi PMC Team is currently looking to fill a position of Specialist Planning & Cost Engineer for an Offshore Project to be based in UAE ( Abu Dhabi) in Office + Offshore Site role on 6 weeks on/ 3 weeks off rotation.
The Planning & Cost Specialist is responsible for developing, maintaining, and controlling project schedules and cost management systems for an Offshore Water Injection Project. The role ensures effective planning, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, performance measurement, and reporting throughout all project phases, including engineering, procurement, construction, offshore installation, commissioning, and start-up.
The position plays a critical role in ensuring project delivery within approved schedule and budget while providing accurate project controls insights to support management decision-making.
Key Responsibilities Planning & Scheduling- Develop and maintain integrated project schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent planning software.
- Establish project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and coding structures.
- Prepare baseline schedules covering engineering, procurement, fabrication, offshore installation, hook-up, commissioning, and start-up activities.
- Monitor schedule progress and identify critical paths, constraints, and potential delays.
- Conduct schedule risk analysis and prepare mitigation and recovery plans.
- Evaluate contractor and subcontractor schedules for compliance with project requirements.
- Produce weekly and monthly scheduling reports, progress curves, and KPI dashboards.
- Coordinate schedule interfaces among engineering, procurement, construction, offshore operations, and commissioning teams.
- Develop project cost control systems and procedures.
- Establish project budgets and cost breakdown structures (CBS).
- Monitor commitments, expenditures, accruals, and forecasts.
- Perform cost analysis and variance reporting against approved budgets.
- Prepare Estimate at Completion (EAC) and Estimate to Complete (ETC) forecasts.
- Monitor contractor invoices, change orders, and claims from a cost perspective.
- Identify cost risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Support project management in achieving budget objectives.
- Implement project progress measurement systems.
- Verify progress reported by contractors and vendors.
- Analyze earned value performance and project productivity.
- Generate project control reports including:
- Schedule Performance Index (SPI)
- Cost Performance Index (CPI)
- Earned Value Analysis (EVA)
- S-Curves
- Milestone performance reports
- Prepare management presentations and project control summaries for stakeholders.
- Participate in project risk assessments and maintain risk registers related to schedule and cost performance.
- Evaluate the schedule and cost impact of changes, variations, and claims.
- Support change management processes and ensure accurate documentation.
- Assist in developing mitigation and recovery strategies.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Offshore Installation, Operations, and Commissioning teams.
- Interface with EPC contractors, vendors, consultants, and client representatives.
- Support project audits, project reviews, and management reporting requirements.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline.
