- Develop detailed testing & commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules.
- Review project specifications, drawings, and vendor documents.
- Manage and supervise testing & commissioning activities for substation equipment, including:
- Power Transformers
- Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) / Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS)
- MV/LV Switchgear
- Protection relays and control systems
- Control & relay panels
- Cables and cable systems
- Ensure all pre-commissioning checks and energization procedures are followed.
- Witness and approve factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT).
- Lead testing of protection schemes, including distance, differential, overcurrent, and backup protection.
- Configure, test, and troubleshoot protection relays.
- Verify SCADA integration and communication protocols.
- Identify and resolve technical issues during testing and commissioning.
- Coordinate with vendors for specialized testing and system integration.
- Ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures and standards.
- Review and approve test reports and commissioning records.
- Maintain proper documentation for all testing activities.
- Manage and supervise commissioning engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.
- Allocate work and monitor team performance.
- Provide technical guidance and training.
- Coordinate with client, consultant, and authorities for inspections and approvals.
- Attend meetings and provide technical updates.
- Support final project handover and client acceptance.
