Position: Quantity Surveyor (E&I)

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor - Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) to join our growing EPC project team. This role is responsible for quantity take-offs, measurement verification, cost control, contract administration, progress valuation, variation management, and commercial monitoring of E&I works across major Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power, Industrial, Marine, Substation, and Infrastructure projects.

Your Role

As Quantity Surveyor (E&I), you will play a critical role in ensuring project commercial success through accurate quantity measurement, effective cost management, contract compliance, and proactive commercial support throughout the project lifecycle.

Quantity Take-Offs & Measurement
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs from IFC drawings, specifications, BOQs, MTOs, and contract documents.
  • Measure and verify quantities for:
    Power and control cables, Fiber optic cable systems, Cable trays, conduits, and grounding systems, Lighting systems, Switchgear and transformers, Substations and power distribution systems, Instrument tubing and cable networks, Telecom systems and field instruments.
  • Maintain quantity tracking registers and measurement records.
  • Support preparation and validation of Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
Cost Control & Commercial Management
  • Monitor project costs against approved budgets and cost baselines.
  • Prepare cost forecasts and identify potential cost overruns.
  • Analyze cost variances and recommend corrective measures.
  • Support project teams in maintaining commercial performance and profitability.
Progress Measurement & Valuation
  • Measure completed E&I works for monthly valuations and invoicing.
  • Verify progress quantities for client billing and subcontractor payments.
  • Prepare supporting documentation for payment applications and commercial reports.
  • Coordinate progress measurement activities with Planning and Project Controls teams.
Variation & Change Management
  • Assess quantity and cost impacts arising from design changes, site instructions, and scope growth.
  • Prepare variation estimates and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain variation registers and change management records.
  • Support substantiation of commercial entitlements and claims.
Contract Administration & Claims
  • Assist in preparation and defense of contractual claims and Extension of Time (EOT) submissions.
  • Monitor contractual compliance and project obligations.
  • Support resolution of commercial disputes.
  • Assist in final account preparation and contract closeout activities.
  • Support preparation of tender packages and commercial submissions.
  • Review supplier and subcontractor quotations for E&I works.
  • Participate in bid evaluations and commercial assessments.
  • Verify subcontractor progress claims, variations, and final accounts.
  • Maintain subcontract commercial records and correspondence.
  • Prepare:
    Quantity Reports, Cost Reports, Cash Flow Forecasts, Variation Reports, Commercial Dashboards
  • Identify commercial risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Support contingency planning and commercial risk management.
  • Ensure complete and accurate records are maintained within ERP and document control systems.
Stakeholder Coordination
  • Work closely with Engineering, Procurement, Planning, Construction, Project Controls, Commercial, and Finance teams.
  • Interface with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers on commercial matters.
  • Participate in project reviews and commercial meetings.
  • Provide commercial recommendations that support project decision-making.
What We’re Looking For Experience
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management of Electrical & Instrumentation projects.
