Air Q Limited is looking for an experienced Production Testing Engineer to join our Assembly, Integration & Testing (AIT) team in Abu Dhabi.
The Production Testing Engineer will be responsible for the integration checkout, functional testing, and final acceptance testing of assembled units
, ensuring that each unit meets defined technical, quality, and performance requirements before handover.
This is a hands‑on engineering role requiring strong experience in electro‑mechanical systems, test equipment, instrumentation, troubleshooting, and cross‑functional collaboration with R&D, Quality, and Production teams.
Key Responsibilities Integration & System Testing- Perform integration checkout of assembled units and systems.
- Verify power systems, electronics, communications interfaces, navigation systems, sensors, and other subsystem interfaces.
- Identify and troubleshoot integration issues during production testing.
- Ensure all required checks are completed before units proceed to final acceptance.
- Develop, document, and execute functional and final acceptance test procedures.
- Define appropriate test methods and acceptance criteria in coordination with Engineering and Quality teams.
- Conduct final functional testing and verify compliance with technical requirements.
- Maintain accurate test records, results, and traceability for each tested unit.
- Design, develop, and build test rigs, fixtures, and test setups for new products and configurations.
- Configure and operate instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
- Ensure test equipment and rigs are functional, calibrated, and ready for production use.
- Troubleshoot test equipment issues and coordinate repair, maintenance, and calibration activities.
- Work closely with R&D and Engineering teams to establish and validate testing and acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate with Quality to ensure testing aligns with applicable quality requirements.
- Support production teams in resolving testing and integration-related issues.
- Provide regular updates on testing progress, system readiness, and outstanding issues to the Head of Testing.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, procedures, and production workflows.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in integration and testing, test engineering, electro-mechanical systems, or a similar role.
- Experience in aerospace, UAV, aviation, defense, or advanced manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
- Experience with hands‑on testing, troubleshooting, instrumentation, and test equipment.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent process‑improvement certification is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of electro‑mechanical and electronic subsystem integration.
- Experience testing power systems, communication interfaces, navigation systems, and sensors.
- Ability to design and build test rigs, fixtures, and test setups from scratch.
- Experience with test instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and fault‑isolation capabilities.
- Understanding of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality principles.
- Ability to develop and execute structured test procedures.
- Experience with production acceptance testing and test documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Good understanding of continuous improvement methodologies.
- Analytical and methodical approach to engineering problems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Hands‑on and proactive approach to troubleshooting.
- Strong communication and cross‑functional coordination skills.
- Ability to work effectively with R&D, Quality, Production, and Testing teams.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple testing priorities.
- Strong ownership and accountability for test results and product readiness.
