HSE Officer; Water Infrastructure

Description

The role involves supporting infrastructure projects related to sewerage and stormwater systems, flood alleviation, wastewater networks, water distribution networks, pumping stations, recycling plants, and rehabilitation works.

The position will include carrying out investigations, planning, design support, tendering, contract administration, construction supervision, and site monitoring activities.

• Take responsibility for overall site health, safety, and environmental management.
• Prepare and implement site safety plans, procedures, and safety policies.
• Conduct monthly safety meetings and carry out site safety audits, with findings reported to management.
• Deliver safety training and other required training sessions as directed by management.
• Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly safety inspections and maintain proper documentation for reference.
• Consult with workers and management to identify the best approach for maintaining a safe working environment.
• Conduct risk assessments for site work activities.
• Perform audits of the site, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Raise non-conformance reports, accident reports, and incident reports where required.
• Manage internal and external client communication related to site safety and project requirements.
• Build and maintain a strong safety culture across the project site.
• Provide HSE supervision and management support for infrastructure projects.
• Follow safe work practices and comply with company guidelines and policies for safe planning and execution of work.
• Complete all work in line with Stantec Core Values, Quality Systems, and Project Quality Procedures.
• Maintain a safe and healthy working environment at all times.
• Carry out any other duties assigned by the Resident Engineer from time to time.

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Health and Safety Management, Environmental Science, or an equivalent field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in infrastructure construction, preferably with a sewerage field work background.
• NEBOSH General Certificate, NEBOSH Construction Certificate, or equivalent HSE qualification.
• Additional HSE-related diploma or certification will be an advantage.
• OSHAD/Qudor official registration is required.
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices, particularly in the UAE and Abu Dhabi.
• Valid UAE driving licence is required.
• Previous TAQA approval in water transmission will be preferred.
