Requirements- Degree in Civil, Mechanical Engineering or related fields, with specialization in onshore pipeline engineering, design, construction and operation.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, with focus on pipeline engineering.
- Proven experience in EPC projects, including bidding and execution phases.
- At least 2 years of continuous experience in projects in the Middle East.
- Knowledge and application of Shell DEP, international codes and standards.
- Proficiency in ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8 and other applicable ASME standards
- Practical knowledge of pipeline construction techniques (welding, excavation, HDD, installation).
- Advanced English level C1 or higher.
- 100% on-site in Abu Dhabi.
- Control the production, quality and issuance of pipeline engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with the project schedule and Quality Management System.
- Prepare the EDDR and WBS of the Pipeline discipline.
- Perform and review pipeline engineering calculations, including wall thickness, equivalent pressure, bending thinning, buckling, crossings and hydrostatic testing.
- Develop onshore pipeline engineering activities during bidding and execution phases, complying with budget, schedule and quality standards.
- Review alignment drawings, crossings, pipeline typical drawings, station approaches and associated documentation. Integrate comments and inputs from other disciplines into pipeline documents.
- Present design information to contractors, ensuring proper understanding of scope and technical requirements.
- Prepare technical specifications, datasheets and requisitions for pipeline materials (line pipe, bends, tees, insulating joints, valves, internal and external coatings, among others). Prepare Material Take-Off (MTO) for the pipeline scope.
- Prepare technical requisitions, technical bid evaluations (TBE), review vendor documentation and inspect materials and equipment.
- Verify compliance with client technical specifications and budgeted costs.
- Technically supervise construction activities to ensure design compliance with contract and scope of work.
- Maintain smooth coordination between the engineering team and the construction team.
- Participate in field surveys and review/approve pre-construction survey reports. Review and approve contractor Method Statements for all ROW activities, welding, coatings, hydrostatic testing, drying, nitrogen purging, reinstatement, as-built and final caliper survey activities.
- Coordinate interfaces with the project team and other company areas during execution.
- Maintain technical communication with clients for timely resolution of queries, deviations and design changes.
