Job Overview
As a Resident Engineer Civil Substations you will be responsible for leading and supervising all civil works associated with substation construction projects. You will ensure that projects are delivered in accordance with design specifications, quality standards, safety regulations and project timelines. Acting as the key on-site representative you will coordinate with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure efficient execution and successful completion of high-voltage substation projects.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise all civil works related to GIS AIS substations including Control buildings, Transformer foundations, Gantry foundations, Cable trenches and duct banks, Boundary walls and fencing, Roads, drainage and underground utilities, Oil containment pits and firewater structures
- Monitor contractor performance, progress and compliance with approved drawings and specifications
- Review and approve material submittments, shop drawings, RFIs and method statements
- Ensure compliance with QA QC procedures and HSE requirements
- Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, protection and commissioning teams
- Liaise with clients, contractors and utility authorities
- Review progress reports, variations and contractor claims
- Support testing, commissioning, project handover and close-out activities
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer/Chartered Engineer certification is an advantage.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in civil engineering and construction supervision.
- Minimum 10 years of experience on 132kV and above substation projects.
- Proven experience in GIS and AIS substations.
- Consultancy/site supervision experience is mandatory.
- UAE/GCC utility project experience is preferred.
