Designation :

- Drilling Fluids Specialist (DFS) / Mud Engineer Job Objective :

- UAE based wellsite fluid engineering support to assist with day-today field execution concerning drilling fluids program, well operation planning, develop best practices and technical solutions delivery in behalf of PPC. Supervise, planning, support in coordination with P.E’s will report functionally to Operation Manager which must have accountability in field related operational requirements, equipment functionality, promote products technologies.

Key Responsibilities /Duties :

-
  • Will have experience of working on onshore / offshore drilling rigs using a variety of water-based and oil/synthetic-based drilling, workover and completion fluids, solids control and waste management applications. You will be expected to be conversant with all aspects related to executing, reporting and planning the drilling fluids package.
  • Directly involved in EOW reports, pre/post-well analysis and to make recommendations for improvements on future wells. You must have experience in international locations working for international mud company standards
  • Responsible for daily mud running specifications, fulfils with all activities associated with the operation, including but not limited to:
    Testing, logistics, inventory control and communication with Drilling Representative, drilling contractors, Mud loggers, other well services members.
  • Responsible to maintain drilling-completion fluid performance based on customer operational program, provides technical and operational support referenced to any drilling fluids products utilized (water or oil-based mud).
  • Ensure good condition and optimal products inventory level at the rig site.
  • Responsible for mud lab equipment good functionality, including inventory and maintenance.
  • Complete daily following detailed operational consistency and progress, to complete a smooth billing process.
  • Manage, interprets and report Engineering software tools and daily drilling report as appropriate
  • Show the consistent ability to prepare, maintain and condition any drilling and completion fluid systems, effectively and efficiently as possible following the well program requirements.
  • Use appropriate laboratory equipment to report fluid properties, perform at least every 15 days lab equipment verification, calibration, and cleaning while are used in the field.
  • Responsible to formulate, prepare, drilling fluid system, maintain fluids parameters and mitigate drilling problems.
  • Keep a high level of communication with our customer and P.E’s regarding drilling fluid conditions, properties, recommended treatments based on expected well conditions.
  • Keep daily well cost records, check current well cost control according to drilling fluid proposal.
  • Document problems encountered, assesses and mitigate drilling fluid related issues through technical solutions and recommendation.
  • Complete in time manner all mud reports required such as daily fluid properties, inventory, volume and concentrations, solids control equipment, EOWR.
  • Monitor drilling fluid displacement of during cement jobs to ensure theoretical fluid volume is displaced and recovered.
