About the job JUNIOR COMMISSIONING ENGINEER ELV/FLS - DATA CENTER
We are seeking a Junior Commissioning Engineer (ELV/FLS) to support the commissioning of a 200MW data center project. This role covers Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems and Fire Life Safety (FLS) systems, ensuring they are installed, integrated, and functioning per design intent and life safety code requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:- Support commissioning of ELV systems including access control, CCTV, security systems, structured cabling, and building management/monitoring interfaces.
- Support commissioning of FLS systems including fire alarm, smoke detection, gas suppression (e.g., FM-200/Novec), sprinkler interlocks, and fire dampers.
- Assist with development and execution of test scripts covering device-level testing, cause-and-effect (C&E) matrix verification, and integrated systems testing.
- Verify fire alarm and suppression system interfaces with BMS, electrical shutdown sequences, and mechanical dampers/AHU shutdowns.
- Track deficiencies and coordinate closeout with ELV/FLS contractors and vendors.
- Review submittals, cause-and-effect matrices, and system narratives for compliance with design and code requirements.
- Maintain accurate test records, checklists, and commissioning reports.
- Liaise with Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) documentation requirements where applicable.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree or diploma in Electrical, Fire Protection Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 1–3 years of experience in ELV and/or fire life safety systems, ideally within data centers or mission-critical facilities.
- Understanding of fire alarm/suppression system operation and cause-and-effect testing methodology.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., NFPA 72, NFPA 2001, local fire codes).
- Experience with gas suppression system commissioning (e.g., clean agent systems) (Preferred)
- Exposure to integrated security/access control platforms (Preferred)
- Relevant certifications (e.g., NICET, CCP, or working toward chartership) (Preferred)
