Technical Director – Electrical – Abu Dhabi

Are you an experienced electrical engineering leader ready to set the technical direction for complex, high-value projects and help grow a global consultancy across the Middle East? Then this role is for you.

As Technical Director – Electrical, you will lead the design and delivery of electrical engineering services for critical buildings and infrastructure. You will provide technical direction, manage project and team performance, strengthen client relationships and take ownership of commercial outcomes, working closely with colleagues across our global offices.

You will set the technical vision for the electrical engineering team and lead multidisciplinary teams toward clear project objectives. You will act as a technical authority, driving innovation, best practice and design excellence across complex projects.

You will oversee technical delivery against agreed schedules and budgets, manage project financials and evaluate profitability. You will prepare fee proposals and provide clear reporting to leadership, clients and project partners.

You will lead, mentor and develop engineers, building capability and accountability across the team. You will help shape the next generation of technical leaders while continuing to grow your own expertise.

You will build and maintain strong client relationships and play a central role in winning new work. Your technical credibility and commercial judgement will help the business grow sustainably.

You will work closely with colleagues across our international offices, sharing knowledge and contributing to global standards. You will also have a seat at the leadership table, contributing to business decisions and direction.

• Strong background in electrical engineering within an MEP consultancy.
• Chartered status, or close to achieving it.
• Proven experience leading complex design projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Commercial awareness, with the ability to link technical delivery to profitability.
• Confidence in client-facing roles and business development.
• Sound understanding of international codes, standards and design practices.
• Proficiency with relevant engineering design software.
