Telecom RF & Network Engineer UAE

Position Summary:

We are seeking an exceptionally skilled and experienced Telecom RF & Network Engineer to join SOS Holdings on a short-term contract assignment within the Oil & Gas and EPC sector in Abu Dhabi, UAE. In this critical telecommunications engineering role, you will be responsible for radio frequency engineering, network design, testing, commissioning, and integration of UHF/VHF radio systems, base stations, and IP infrastructure for major industrial projects.

The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of telecom engineering experience in EPC projects, deep expertise in the oil and gas or petrochemical sector, and hands‑on familiarity with ADNOC project standards. If you possess a distinguished background in industrial radio systems and network deployment.

As a Telecom RF & Network Engineer at SOS Holdings in Abu Dhabi, UAE, you will serve as a foundational technical lead supporting short-term EPC project deliverables. Your daily responsibilities will encompass executing radio network design, conducting RF studies, managing UHF/VHF radio systems, repeaters, antennas, and dispatch consoles, and integrating structured cabling and IP networking infrastructure (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VLAN, routing, switching).

You will prepare and review telecom design packages, data sheets, material requisitions (MR), and commissioning procedures while coordinating closely with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary EPC teams.

• Execute end-to-end radio frequency engineering, radio network design, and coverage studies for industrial EPC projects.
• Deploy, test, and commission UHF/VHF radio systems, repeaters, base stations, antennas, handheld/mobile radios, and dispatch systems.
• Configure and troubleshoot IP networking infrastructure including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VLANs, routing, and switching.
• Implement basic cybersecurity controls, firewall rules, and network segmentation for industrial control systems.
• Perform telecom installation, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and system commissioning.
• Prepare and review comprehensive telecom design packages, RF studies, network diagrams, and technical data sheets.
• Manage material requisitions (MR), vendor submittals, and commissioning procedures.
• Integrate UHF radio systems seamlessly with structured cabling and core network infrastructure.
• Coordinate proactively with clients, third-party vendors, and EPC project teams to ensure schedule compliance.
• Author daily progress reports, technical snagging lists, and formal system handover documentation.

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5+ years of professional telecommunications engineering experience within EPC project environments.
• Domain expertise in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Energy sector.
• Strong technical expertise in RF Engineering, radio network design, and UHF/VHF radio systems.
• Hands‑on experience with repeaters, base stations, antennas, mobile radios, and dispatch consoles.
• Solid working knowledge of IP networking (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VLAN, routing, and switching).
• Proven ability to prepare and review telecom design packages, RF studies, and commissioning procedures.
• Mandatory residency/work authorization:
  Ability to work on a short-term assignment in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

• Prior project experience working directly with ADNOC or major Middle Eastern national oil companies (NOCs).
• Familiarity with industrial cybersecurity frameworks and network segmentation for OT/IT environments.
• Certifications in RF engineering or Cisco networking (CCNA / CCNP).
• Experience with fiber optic transmission systems and microwave link planning.
• Immediate availability for short-term mobilization in Abu Dhabi.
