We are looking for an experienced Senior Test Engineer to join a highly technical engineering team developing and validating advanced RF, Software Defined Radio (SDR) and communication systems. This is a hands-on engineering position focused on system-level testing, RF performance validation, HW/SW integration, product qualification and complex laboratory test environments.
Responsibilities- Translate system-level requirements into measurable test cases, test procedures and verification activities.
- Plan and execute end-to-end system testing across laboratory and field environments.
- Evaluate system performance and troubleshoot complex operational issues.
- Produce detailed test plans, test reports and validation results.
- Support system-level verification across integrated hardware and software platforms.
- Characterise and validate the performance of RF and SDR system components.
- Perform hands-on testing using RF laboratory equipment including spectrum analysers, network analysers, channel simulators/emulators and related test instrumentation.
- Investigate RF performance issues and support system-level troubleshooting.
- Work closely with RF, waveform, systems, hardware and software engineering teams.
- Perform hands-on HW/SW system integration and troubleshooting in complex laboratory environments.
- Identify, specify and build the hardware and software test resources required for project validation.
- Develop test and measurement solutions using Python, MATLAB, C/C++ or equivalent programming languages.
- Support automation of laboratory testing and measurement activities.
- Support product qualification and environmental testing.
- Perform or coordinate testing covering areas such as vibration, temperature, humidity, shock and EMI/EMC.
- Support compliance and qualification activities against applicable standards.
- Degree in Electronic, Electrical, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in test, verification, validation or systems integration.
- Strong hands-on experience with RF, SDR and/or wireless communication systems.
- Strong understanding of RF fundamentals and test & measurement techniques.
- Hands-on experience with equipment such as spectrum analysers, network analysers, channel emulators/simulators, signal generators or similar RF instrumentation.
- Experience with hardware/software integration and system-level troubleshooting.
- Experience developing and executing test plans, test cases and verification procedures.
- Programming or test automation experience using Python, MATLAB, C/C++ or similar.
- Experience with environmental/product qualification, EMI/EMC, vibration, thermal, humidity or shock testing is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- We are particularly interested in engineers from RF systems, SDR, wireless communications, defence communications, tactical radio, embedded systems, RF product validation and advanced communications R&D environments.
