Senior Commissioning Engineer E&I – ADNOC Approved

Criteria for Selecting a Senior Commissioning Engineer (E&I) 1. Technical Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
  in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related field.

• Strong understanding of:

• Electrical systems (LV/MV/HV)

• Instrumentation systems (field instruments, control valves, analyzers, FOC)

• Control systems (DCS, PLC, ESD, F&G)

• Power distribution and protection systems

• Loop checking, functional testing, and system integration

Most companies require:

• 10-15+ years of experience
  in oil & gas or petrochemical.

• Proven track record in:

• Pre-commissioning and commissioning activities

• System handover (A/B/C punch lists)

• Start-up support

• Troubleshooting complex E&I issues

• Experience with
  EPC contractors
  , OEMs
  , and client-side commissioning teams
  .

A senior engineer must be familiar with:

• IEC, IEEE, ISA, API, NFPA standards

• Hazardous area classifications (ATEX, IECEx)

• SIL/LOPA concepts

• Permit-to-work systems and safe commissioning practices

• Ability to lead multi-disciplinary commissioning teams

• Interface with construction, QA/QC, operations, and vendors

• Manage schedules, manpower, and priorities

• Conduct toolbox talks, risk assessments, and daily coordination meetings

Preparation and review of:

• Commissioning procedures

• Method statements

• ITRs, check sheets, test packs

• Commissioning Red-line markups and as-built documentation

• Familiarity with completion management systems (CMS) like:

• WinPCS

• PIMS

• Pro Co Sys

• ICAPS

• EPCPROMAN

• Deep understanding of:

• HSE rules and safe commissioning practices

• Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)

• SIMOPS (simultaneous operations)

• Hazard identification and risk mitigation

• Preferable Certifications like (If Possible):

• Comp Ex (for hazardous areas)

• Clear communication with clients and contractors

• Problem-solving under pressure

• Ability to mentor junior engineers and technicians

• Strong reporting and documentation discipline

• Experience with offshore platforms, refineries, LNG plants, or pipelines

• Vendor/OEM factory acceptance test (FAT/SAT) experience

• Willingness to work in remote or harsh environments

• Multinational project exposure
