Job DescriptionThe Environmental Health and Safety Specialist will perform technical work across a range of environmental, health, and safety disciplines. The position supports the implementation of workplace controls and procedures designed to identify hazards, reduce occupational risks, and maintain compliance with relevant ES and H requirements. The role requires practical application of established concepts, practices, and procedures within the individual 's environmental specialty while contributing to broader safety and health activities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform technical environmental, health, and safety activities under general supervision.
- Support compliance with established ES and H standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Apply fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures relevant to the assigned environmental specialty.
- Assist in developing environmental health and safety programs, systems, and procedures.
- Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of safety and health programs.
- Monitor workplace conditions to identify potential hazards and occupational health risks.
- Contribute to measures designed to prevent hazards and diseases that may arise within work areas.
- Investigate workplace accidents and injuries to establish relevant circumstances and safety concerns.
- Review complaints relating to workplace hazards and support appropriate investigation and follow-up.
- Contribute to maintaining effective environmental, health, and safety practices across assigned work activities.
