  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of interdisciplinary coastal engineering functions and apply modelling tools to inform effective design solutions.
  • Review and approve technical specifications, design and modelling reports, and oversee the preparation and issuance of tender packages.
  • Motivate and mentor colleagues to enhance their technical knowledge, skills, and professional competencies.
  • Communicate clearly and succinctly in both oral and written forms; adapt communication style according to the audience and context.
  • Analyze complex technical problems and develop practical, cost-effective engineering mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure the quality of deliverables meets or exceeds project requirements, while adhering to safety and environmental standards.
  • Support and optimize research and development initiatives related to coastal engineering when involved in R&D activities.
  • Evaluate and analyze tender proposals and project designs to ensure technical feasibility and cost-efficiency.
  • Supervise and review coastal engineering design deliverables to meet deadlines and remain within budget constraints.
  • Monitor project deliverables across all phases, contribute to project planning, and assist in developing effective, realistic project schedules.
  • Actively listen, engage constructively, and use persuasive reasoning in team and stakeholder interactions.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and design engineers to manage coastal resources efficiently and sustainably.
  • Collaborate with the Coastal Manager to ensure effective and efficient planning, allocation, and management of team resources.
  • Take ownership of personal objectives and contribute to achieving broader divisional and organizational goals.
  • Manage conflicts diplomatically, mediate between competing stakeholder interests, and provide resolution-oriented leadership.
Qualification:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, and preferably an advanced degree in Coastal/Marine Engineering and Sciences.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of relevant experience in related industries
