We are looking for an experienced Subcontracting Engineer to join an Oil & Gas / EPC environment in Abu Dhabi. The role requires strong expertise in subcontract management, vendor inspection, QA/QC, procurement support, technical documentation, and coordination with vendors and project stakeholders.
The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and have at least 8 years of UAE experience in subcontract management, vendor inspection, QA/QC, or procurement support within Oil & Gas, EPC, or industrial projects. Strong knowledge of applicable ASME, ASTM, API, and AWS standards is required.

Key Responsibilities- Support subcontract management activities across Oil & Gas and EPC projects.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, procurement teams, and project stakeholders.
- Support vendor inspection and QA/QC activities.
- Review technical and quality documentation related to subcontracted work.
- Work with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Review Material Requisition s (MRs), Purchase Requisition s (PRs), and Purchase Orders (POs).
- Review Material Test Certificates (MTCs) and manufacturing dossiers.
- Ensure subcontracted materials and services comply with applicable project specifications and industry standards.
- Coordinate vendor manufacturing, inspection, testing, and documentation activities.
- Support technical reporting and stakeholder coordination.
- Travel to vendor facilities when required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 8+ years of UAE experience in subcontract management, vendor inspection, QA/QC, or procurement support.
- Experience with in Oil & Gas, EPC, or industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of:
- ASME B31.1 / B31.3
- ASME Sections II, V & IX
- ASME B16
- ASTM standards
- API 5L
- AWS D1.1
- Knowledge of EN 10204 3.1/3.2 certificates and PED requirements.
- Experience with ITPs, MRs/PRs, POs, MTCs, and manufacturing dossiers.
- Excellent Arabic and English communication skills.
- Strong reporting and stakeholder coordination abilities.
- CSWIP 3.1 and/or ASNT Level II certification is preferred.
- Knowledge of seamless and welded pipe production.
- Understanding of heat treatment and hydrotesting.
- ISO 9001 / ISO 19011 auditing knowledge.
- Experience with SAP, Oracle, or Primavera.
- Willingness to travel to vendor facilities.
