This UAE National opportunity is open to fresh graduates and provides hands-on involvement in construction cost estimating, quantity takeoffs, work breakdown structures, cost databases, quotations, and Basis of Estimate development. Working with experienced estimating professionals, the role will support preparation of reliable project and program estimates using engineering drawings, specifications, historical cost information, estimating software, and established Parsons procedures.

- Prepare material and quantity takeoffs for assigned contracts, projects, or programs using engineering drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Perform takeoffs from AutoCAD drawings and other applicable project software.
- Assist with development of detailed Work Breakdown Structures for contracts, projects, and program elements.
- Help define estimating scope based on contract documents, project development requirements, systems, and subsystems.
- Support Estimating Leads with historical cost information and estimate database management.
- Collect, evaluate, classify, and document cost information from completed design and construction contracts.
- Maintain information relating to work activities, delivery methods, productivity, activity durations, supervision, and craft man-hour utilization.
- Organize historical information in accordance with company estimating database requirements.
Support preparation and summarization of Basis of Estimate documentation, clearly identifying the scope and methodology used to develop each estimate. The role will assist in documenting pricing information, labor rates, material and equipment rates, assumptions, exclusions, escalation considerations, and comparisons with historical estimates from similar projects. Estimate documentation will also capture applicable quality control reviews, conclusions, and recommendations.
Cost Estimating and Analysis- Use historical parametric estimate data to support probable cost development.
- Assist with estimates based on preliminary scope definitions and capital asset requirements.
- Apply top-down Work Breakdown Structure approaches where appropriate to define systems, services, assets, functions, and outputs.
- Prepare tasked estimates using labor, material, and equipment rates.
- Incorporate productivity rates, efficiencies, resources, and relevant impacts into unit cost development.
- Perform estimate calculations and develop bid item details.
- Prepare resource reports and work activity definitions.
- Support quality-controlled estimate preparation for assigned projects and programs.
Develop the information required to obtain quotations from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers. This includes helping define specifications and scopes of work sufficiently for external parties to provide pricing for materials, equipment, and services. Received pricing information will be incorporated into estimate development in accordance with applicable estimating procedures.
Historical Cost DataThe Associate Estimating Engineer will help build reliable estimating information by accumulating and documenting historical cost data from previously completed company contracts. This information will be classified and organized using Parsons ' standard database structure so that relevant cost history can support future project estimates and comparisons.
Contract and Estimate Risk- Review construction contract commercial documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Support assessment of contractual risks that could affect estimated project costs.
- Identify potential areas of cost exposure.
- Assist in assessing reasonable cost and schedule exposure associated with identified risks.
Support estimate quality control activities. - Maintain clear supporting information for estimating assumptions and calculations.
