Conceptual Facilities Engineer and Cost Estimator
To deliver conceptual facilities designs and Class 4 5 cost estimates that support concept screening and selection for onshore and offshore oil and gas developments
Key Responsibilities- Develop and compare conceptual field development and facilities schemes for greenfield and brownfield projects
- Define design assumptions facility capacities preliminary equipment sizing layouts interfaces and development phasing
- Prepare Class 4 and Class 5 cost estimates and concise estimate-basis documentation using Questor or similar tools
- Perform preliminary hydraulic calculations and identify major technical constraints cost drivers risks and optimization opportunities
- Prepare clear technical reports cost summaries and decision-support materials for concept screening and selection
- Conceptual design of onshore and offshore oil and gas production facilities including gathering systems flowlines pipelines processing injection storage export and supporting infrastructure all types and application of platforms floating production and storage units marine vessels subsea production systems and tie-backs
- Preparation of AACE Class 4 and Class 5 CAPEX estimates including estimate basis assumptions exclusions contingencies location factors and key cost drivers
- Practical use of Questor or equivalent cost-estimating software ability to benchmark estimates using historical project data analogues and vendor information
- Preliminary hydraulic calculations for single-phase and multiphase flowlines gathering networks export pipelines and water gas injection systems including pressure loss capacity and line sizing
- Working knowledge of applicable international standards and recommended practices
- Concept screening and comparison based on technical feasibility CAPEX schedule HSE constructability operability and project risk
Bachelor s degree in related engineering discipline Minimum 5 years of relevant oil and gas experience in conceptual studies, feasibility studies, conceptselection or pre-FEED. Demonstrated experience in both conceptual facilities engineering and cost estimation for onshore and offshore developments. Experience with hydraulic or process software such as Pipesim, HYSYS, OLGA, Pipe Phase or equivalent is preferred. Strong analytical skills, technical judgement and ability to work effectively with incomplete data and clearly document assumptions and uncertainties.
Professional working proficiency in English, with strong technical writing and presentation skills.
