Job Description

The Instrumentation & Automation Engineer will be responsible for supervising, monitoring, and ensuring the successful execution of all instrumentation, control, automation, PLC, SCADA, and testing & commissioning activities for the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) project. The role involves review of design documents, technical submittals, installation works, calibration, testing, commissioning, and system integration to ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality requirements, project specifications, approved drawings, and international standards.

The Engineer will coordinate closely with civil, mechanical, electrical, process, and commissioning teams to ensure seamless operation and delivery of all plant automation systems.

• Manage and supervise instrumentation, control, automation, and SCADA works for the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP).
• Review IFC drawings, specifications, control philosophies, instrument datasheets, and approved shop drawings.
• Review and approve instrumentation and automation material submittals and technical documents.
• Supervise installation of field instruments such as flow, level, pressure, temperature, pH, DO, turbidity, chlorine, and other process instruments
  .
• Review and coordinate P&IDs, instrument index, I/O lists, cable schedules, and instrument location drawings
  .
• Supervise installation and termination of instrument cables, junction boxes, marshalling panels, and control panels.
• Coordinate instrumentation works with civil, mechanical, electrical, process, and MEP disciplines
  .
• Review PLC, SCADA, HMI, RTU, and control system architecture and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Monitor PLC and SCADA programming, configuration, graphics, alarms, trends, and communication interfaces.
• Review control logic, cause-and-effect diagrams, functional descriptions, and sequence of operations
  .
• Supervise installation and testing of actuated valves, control valves, motorized valves, and associated control equipment.
• Ensure proper calibration and configuration of all process instruments.
• Witness loop checking, point-to-point testing, functional testing, and signal verification
  .
• Coordinate testing and commissioning of instrumentation and automation systems with the commissioning team.
• Verify communication between PLC, SCADA, MCCs, VFDs, analyzers, remote panels, and other plant systems
  .
• Review and witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) where applicable.
• Ensure instrumentation and automation works comply with Dubai Municipality requirements, project specifications, approved drawings, and applicable international standards

• Monitor contractor activities and ensure compliance with approved method statements, ITPs, and quality procedures
