Commissioning Manager

To lead and manage all Testing & Commissioning activities for hybrid plants (Solar PV + BESS plants) and associated Substations (220 kV or above), ensuring safe, reliable, and timely energization in compliance with project specifications, client standards, and statutory regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the T&C team for the utility scale hybrid renewable project (PV+BESS).
• Develop and implement commissioning strategies, schedules, and methodologies.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction teams to align commissioning activities with project milestones.
• Plan, supervise, and execute pre-commissioning, commissioning, and energization of transmission lines and associated equipment.
• Ensure testing of protection systems, control systems, substations (if interfaced), and line equipment as per approved procedures.
• Troubleshoot technical issues during commissioning and provide solutions. Compliance & Quality
• Ensure commissioning is carried out in accordance with IEC/IEEE/IS standards and client specifications.
• Conduct inspections and audits to ensure adherence to safety and quality norms.
• Maintain documentation for all commissioning activities including test reports, checklists, and as-built drawings. Stakeholder Management
• Liaise with clients, consultants, OEMs, and statutory authorities for successful project energization and handover.
• Represent the company during inspections, acceptance tests, and final approvals. Team Development.
• Build, train, and mentor the commissioning team to enhance technical expertise.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering .
• 15+ years of experience in testing, commissioning in solar or renewable energy projects.
• Proficiency in testing electrical systems, including inverters, transformers, switch gear, and SCADA systems.
• Expertise in renewable energy regulations, grid connectivity protocols, and power system protection.
• Strong understanding of solar PV systems, including DC/AC wiring, string inverters, and central inverters.
• Proven track record of managing testing & commissioning teams.
